MediaTek and UAE Telecom operator Du have agreed to cooperate on the deployment, testing, and validation of next generation LTE (Long Term Evolution) technologies, aiming to provide LTE-Advanced Pro, high-definition VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) services in emerging markets, reported Economic Daily News on December 22. The strategic cooperation will see both companies exchange information and ideas towards the advanced technologies in 5G and Internet of things (IoT). MediaTek's chipset solutions, including its Deca-core SOC (System on Chip) Helio X20, along with the company's continuous investment in R&D, is an attractive proposition for advanced LTE and Wi-Fi operators like Du, said MediaTek.
